1Windows

Download the zip above.
Right-click → Extract All to any folder.
Open the folder and run BetterIF.exe.
If SmartScreen appears, choose More info → Run anyway.

2Linux

Download the .deb file.
Install it: sudo apt install ./betterif-chat_1.2_all.deb
Launch betterif from the terminal or app menu.
Required packages (python3-pyqt6, python3-requests, python3-websocket, python3-cryptography) are pulled in by apt automatically.

3Android

Download the APK on your phone.
Allow Install unknown apps for your browser when asked.
Tap through the Play Protect "unknown developer" warning.
If a previous test build won't update, uninstall it first, then install fresh.

Verify your download

Is this the official iFunny app?

No. Better.IF is a third-party client. It works alongside the official app — you log in with your real iFunny account, and your chats are the same chats.

Does it steal my login or track me?

No. There is no backend tracking and no user data collection. Your iFunny credentials stay between you and iFunny; mod-bot passwords are sealed on your own machine and bot access tokens never leave the server.

Why does Android warn me about the APK?

Because it's sideloaded instead of coming from Google Play, Play Protect flags any "unknown developer." That's expected — verify the hash and certificate fingerprint above and proceed.

Why won't the new APK install over my old one?

The release signing key changed since the test builds, and Android refuses to update an app when the key differs. Uninstall the old build first, then install fresh. Your chats live on iFunny's servers, so nothing is lost.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not yet — Android, Windows, and Linux only for now.

What do I get that the official app lacks?

Threaded replies, message edits, presence and read receipts, name colours and GIF avatars, end-to-end encrypted Whisper DMs with spam shielding, and a full moderation system: ban lists enforced 24/7 by a personal mod bot, multi-moderator support, lockdowns, chat freeze, and a mod log.
